I am committed to serving the marginalized in the CSRA

I have served the LGBTQIA+ community, the poor, homeless, and marginalized for the last 25 years. My desire is to continue that work as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the near future.

Focused on Life-long Learning

I am a firm believer that we never stop learning. My education has been life-long and multifaceted. As I take the next step by applying to the USCA Masters in Clinical Psychology Program, I hope to use the skills and knowledge I gain to help our larger community in the CSRA.

Destigmatizing Mental Health

I believe that so many people in our community are overlooked because of the stigma attached to mental health. It is my desire to end that stigma through education and outreach.

Continuous Support

People in the CSRA need more support from our mental health professionals. There are so many that could benefit from affirming care, but cannot find any professionals who affirm who they are.

Better research into LGBTQIA Mental Health

More research is needed into the links between being LGBTQIA+, the religious trauma they endure, and the daily abuse many endure inside and outside the community. I hope to be a part of that research going forward.

Low Cost and Free Mental Health Services

Just because a person is poor or homeless should not exclude them from being able to get the mental health care they deserve and need. One of my goals, should I successfully complete the Master’s program, is to offer low cost and free mental health services to this community.

Networking with Other Professionals

I would like to create a network of therapists who work with not only the LGBTQIA+ community, but with the poor and homeless in our area. It is important to have a base of therapists who can help those most in need.

Network of Resources

It is important to not only care for these marginalized communities mental health concerns, but to also have resources at the ready to help them with physical health concerns, housing, food, clothing, and job training as needed. This is a dream of mine to provide a comprehensive care system for those most in need.

An array of resources

I hope to build a network of resources for those dealing with mental health concerns. You can find some of my completed class work here.

Introduction to Psychology

“Greer succeeded me as the President of the K4NAB amateur radio club and was not only able to work with a diverse group of people of all ages, backgrounds, to achieve goals by motivating the members during his many years as president of that organization. Their understanding of peoples motivations, goals and concerns allowed them to make appropriate decisions for the best outcomes.”

Former K4NAB President
